Konica Minolta has a wide range of 3D measuring devises their main models are:
- Range 5 - Range 7 - Vivid 9i - Vivid 910
Two FLAAR Reports technical writers had the opportunity to visit the Konica Minolta booth at RAPID 2009 where they met up with Bradley D. Johnson the Technical sales manager for Konica Minolta USA, who kindly explained and gave a demonstration on how the their Range 7 laser scanner worked. This is a non-contact 3d digitizer that can scan 1.3 million points in 2 seconds with an accuracy of 40microns. It can also scan reflective and shiny objects as well as dark objects. This laser scanner can be use for inspection and reverse engineering. It weight is about 15 pounds which makes it a portable system.
